Ecologically responsible action comes naturally to HEWI - its envi-ronmental management system has conformed to international standards since 1998. In order to further promote sustainable solu-tions, HEWI has been a member of the German Sustainable Build-ing Council (DGNB) since 2011.
Comfort & Care
HEWI offers continuously accessible products in all systems for very different areas such as the home, public areas and the care sector. Intelligent functions, comfortable use and consistent design form a unit at HEWI. Numerous innovations in the comfort and care sectors broaden the range of products offered in 2011. HEWI takes up the new DIN 18040 with its product innovations. Modular cross-generational products have been developed, which make a consis-tent design possible in the sanitary, hardware and electronic lock-ing systems sectors.
Colours
System 800, the winner of numerous awards, is enhanced by a colourful material option. System 800 K is characterised by a brilli-ant, highly polished surface and the use of colour. Colour accents give the bathroom freshness. The coloured design of the functional elements creates contrasts and therefore facilitates orientation.
800 K is suitable for a private bathroom, as well as for nursery schools or institutional care institutions, such as, for example, old people's homes and hospitals. Due to the modularity of the pro-ducts, it is possible to furnish the sanitary room, from traditional accessories and comfort products to products for accessibly de-signed areas. In addition, combination with System 800 products in chrome is possible and thus creates additional design alternatives.
New colours have also been added to the complete sanitary sys-tem S 01. In addition to white and grey, S 01 is now also available in brown and red.
Exceptional Design
Numerous awards with diverse design prizes underpin HEWI's claim to design outstanding products. Thus, System 800 has al-ready received three design prizes - the iF Product Design Award 2010, the universal design award: Consumer Favourite 2010 and the IFA Usability Park People's Choice Award 2010. System 800 was also nominated for the Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany 2011.
The washbasins (developed in cooperation with Phoenix Design Stuttgart /Tokyo) were recently awarded with the iF Product Design Award 2011. More than 2,700 products from more than 40 count-ries applied for the title of best design quality. The award acknow-ledges outstanding design performance – in respect of style and function, as well as choice of materials and degree of innovation.
