eLOCK Cylinders – for classic security applications
A good ten percent of all doors in the project or property set high security requirements for an electronic locking system. These are, for example, entrance doors to buildings, staircases, floors or fire compartments. eLOCK cylinders have been tailored to these requirements, and are available both for non-contact operation, e.g. using cards, as well as for familiar actuation using keys.
How it works
All eLOCK cylinders have an integrated battery for their power supply, no wiring is necessary.
eLOCK cylinders are operated differently depending on the type: The lock cylinder is actuated just like a mechanical cylinder: The authorised key is inserted in the keyway, and the lock is opened or closed by turning the key. With the double knob cylinder, an authorised identifier is held in front of the outer knob, and the lock is then opened or closed by turning the knob.
The authorisation check takes place in the inside knob, i.e. on the protected side of the door. In this way, manipulations of the electronics can be effectively prevented. If the identifier is unauthorised, the key or knob can be freely turned without any connection to the lock, and therefore with no possibility of forced actuation. In both types, the lock can be actuated from the inside by turning the permanently coupled internal knob.
